Centennial Land Use ---

The Land Use Department includes several key areas of city operations: Planning, Zoning, Building, Engineering, and Licensing. This section is a tool to assist residents in their needs for building and land use.

The City of Centennial has adopted a Grading, Erosion and Sediment Control (GESC) Regulation to address the requirements of the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Permit.
The GESC manual is available here, and is available in hard copy at the City Offices.

City Council formally ratified a new Comprehensive Plan for the city on Nov. 15, 2004.

Ex Parte Communication Announcement
Given the quasi-judicial nature of the proceedings before the Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Review, and Board of Adjustment, we wish to advise applicants, members of the public and press that in order to provide due process to the applicant and the public, the Commission and Boards are only allowed to consider communications that occur during the public hearing and matters set forth in the record. Consequently, Commission and Boards members cannot engage in conversations about any land use application before the hearing or during a break from the hearing. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure a fair, unbiased process and to allow the Commissions and Board to make an impartial, objective decision on the case. Members of these Commissions and/or Boards are also not permitted to discuss any case that is scheduled to come before the Commission and/or Boards in the future.
